CF Spotlight with King Birnbaum in Celebration of Three Blind Wines

We are excited to present the 10th Annual Three Blind Wines benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on November 16th at Stratton Hall.

CF impacts many throughout the community, like our friend King Birnbaum.  

Age: 6, turning 7 on December 7!

School: Lookout Mountain School, first grade

Hobbies: Soccer, Minecraft, Playing with his dog, Spot, Drawing, and Reading 

Stage of CF: King is living with cystic fibrosis and must spend hours a day focused on his healthcare.  That includes hours of respiratory therapy, nine different medications, and a feeding tube which is used at snack time and for 10 hours overnight.  Additionally, he also battles MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) in his sinuses and lungs.  Sometimes that requires surgery and hospitalizations.  Overall, King and his family have a goal to keep him as healthy as possible while they await a life changing medication that should be available within the next 1-2 years!!!
