Chef Charlie Beat Bobby Flay
Chef Charlie Loomis made his second Food Network appearance last week, this time taking on the legend himself on “Beat Bobby Flay.” After conquering the mystery ingredient, radishes, in his battle against Albuquerque’s Chef Israel Rivera, Chef Charlie advanced to the final round against the master chef.
“Supposedly one of his favorite dishes is eggs benedict, and I wanted to beat him in his own wheelhouse, so I challenged him with one of his favorite dishes,” Charlie said. Not one to disappoint, Chef Charlie’s dish featured eggs benedict with shrimp toast, tomato jam and a roasted green chile hollandaise.
In an interview with WRCB, Chef Charlie shared that appearing on several television shows and competing against renowned culinary artisans isn’t his biggest accomplishment to date. “Honestly my biggest accomplishment was learning how to balance hanging out with my kids and trying to lead a normal life and still be a chef.”
We are proud of all of Chef Charlie’s success and ecstatic that our chef “Beat Bobby Flay.”
