Lucas & Lewellen’s Goodchild, High 9 and Old Adobe Vineyards produce prize-winning Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes in the cool climate of the Santa Maria Valley. While the warm climate of the Valley View Vineyard lends itself to Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc in addition to Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and small quantities of Petit Verdot.
Just south of the small town lie the Los Alamos Vineyard. Home to more than 20 varieties of grapes, including the principal varieties of the Rhone, Burgundy and Bordeaux regions of France. These vines were started with small cuttings brought from Europe more that 25 years ago.
The 2018 Pinot Noir was named “Editors Choice” boasting a 91 point score with aromas of raspberry, plum and thyme along with a rich spice.
